What a Wonderful World

For Earth Day, the Grade 2 students learned how to sing "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. They described what they loved most about the world we live in with such detail so I thought we would create some artwork while listening to the song and our teacher candidate Ms. Blanchette put our artwork in an Animoto for us to enjoy! First video is 2JR and the second is 2J.

I Knew You Were Treble

The Grade 3's and 2/3 classes have been learning music theory for the past couple of weeks to prepare for playing the recorder. We are practicing naming the notes on the treble clef staff and will be trying as many ways as possible to do this. Note Name Battleship, Theory Booklets, Smartboard Games, IPad Games and even relay games outside! This week we found an awesome video that is helping lots of kids learn the note names through a song. Some of them wanted a link to it so here it is!!

Garden of Remembrance

I would like to just say that I am so proud of how respectful and thoughtful our school was at our Remembrance Day Service on Tuesday. The beautiful flowers we made to honour the men and women who has served in the war was an amazing display today. The music, words and behavior at the assembly was exactly as it should be. Thank You to everyone who helped in making our service so beautiful. Here is a picture of our garden.
